The Place:   Area IX, (Lower) Manning Park, Montecito

The Cost:  $42/per person

The Menu
(provided by our Caterer)

Appetizers:
pork spareribs, linguicia, shrimp and asparagus

Main Course:
beef, chicken, beans, bread, salsa, gourmet salad.

We Will Provide:
Sliced fruit and other desserts

Additionally, we will  provide soft drinks, coffee, water and ice as well as bottle openers for  wine or beer) that you  might wish to bring to the park. While we will have disposable napkins, plates and plastic utensils, WE ENCOURAGE YOU BRINGING AT LEAST YOUR OWN METAL CUTLERY.
Finally, we will provide bocce balls for those of you wish to play after the meal.

In the interest of keeping the event affordable, we made our price for this spread a reasonable $42/person. However, to support our mission of providing scholarships and academic prizes at SBCC & UCSB, we plan to sell raffle tickets — $5 for one, or 5-for-$20 — and are actively continuing our search for raffle prizes, having already solicited numerous gifts from our generous Italian patrons in town, one up to $75 in value.  We will also offer  a variety of special books as well as other prizes.

In these COVID times, we are fortunate that our event takes place outside. As we had planned before we cancelled last year’s Ferragosto, our ONLY REQUIREMENT is THAT a TICKETED PERSON ABSENT HER/HIMSELF IF (S)HE EXPERIENCES FEVER OR ANY OF THE SUSPECT SYMPTOMS OF COVID.  In the interest of SAFETY FIRST, we offer a prompt refund of the ticket cost, should this happen during the week prior to the event.

PLEASE PURCHASE YOUR TICKETS BY MONDAY, August 8th to allow our caterer the requisite notice to order/prepare for our event.

We can’t tell you how excited we are to resume our Ferragosto tradition for the first time since 2019.  We look forward to seeing you again, and to your feedback about the changes we have introduced this year.  Please be well until then.
