Cari Amici – Dear Friends,

I hope your July 4th was a relaxing and fun vacation away from work and home chores.  We. at ICHF, were busy putting together  the events for the second half of this year.  And, let me tell you, what an exiting 6 months it will be!     

To our traditional line-up of events, this year we have added a new event that we are sure will delight the ladies in our group while the gentlemen will find it quite interesting as textiles and men fashion will also be included.

So, let’s get started to tell you what to expect:

FERRAGOSTO – AUGUST 10, 2024

As in past years, we will celebrate the summer with an ancient Roman holiday, Ferragosto, with our traditional summer picnic in the beautiful Lower Manning Park in Montecito.

Details of this event will come your way in the second half of July. In the meantime, save the date and plan to join us for a day of fun, music and good ALL ITALIAN food.  Hint:  we have changed caterers!

BEAUTY  ADORNS VIRTUE:
Women’s Fashion in Renaissance Italy

SEPTEMBER 14, 2024

This event will be held at La Cumbre Country Club and will have the usual format, which is, lunch at 12 Noon followed by my presentation.  More details to come after Ferragosto.

CINEMA ITALIANO CONTEMPORANEO

The dates are in and Anna is now looking for the perfect movies to present to our public in the evenings of the following days: September 21 and September 28, 2024.  All Saturday evenings!
More information about the movie line-up will be sent to you at the beginning of September.

As in the past, the movies will be screened at the SBCC’s Fe’ Bland Forum  with a starting time of 7:30 pm. You will be glad to learn that also this year the attendance to the movies will continue to be FREE.

IL PRANZO DI NATALE  (date to be announced)

The venue of our traditional Christmas event, Il Pranzo di Natale (The Xmas Brunch) has not been decided yet.  You see,  Le Cumbre Country Club will start a major renovation at the end of September which is scheduled to last for many months.  The Club House will be closed.  We are now actively looking for another venue and we will let you know when another suitable place is found.

In the meantime, enjoy the sunshine and our gorgeous Santa Barbara, beaches. In case you want to share with me ideas and suggestions, please drop me a line at gschooley@verizon.net.  I am looking forward to hearing from you!
